Only When I Laugh was a sitcom written by Eric Chapel and set in a hospital ward. The show fetured the antics of three paitents, Figgis, Glover and Norman. Neither of the paitents seemed to have much wrong with them. Their nemesis was Doctor Thorpe, played by Richard Wilson, who had little time for these paitents and classed them all as hypochondriacs.
